This privacy policy describes how Weather AI handles your data. Weather AI is committed to protecting your privacy in accordance with Israeli data protection laws and GDPR.

1. What Data We Collect

1.1 Geolocation (with permission)

When using the site, you can grant permission to your browser's Geolocation API. Weather AI receives your coordinates (latitude/longitude) to display local weather instantly. Your location data is not stored on our servers.

1.2 Search Queries

When you use the search box, the city name you search for is stored in your browser's memory (localStorage) to improve future auto-completion. This data is not transmitted to our servers.

1.3 Favorite Cities

When you add cities to your favorites, this list is stored in your browser's localStorage. Weather AI does not collect or store this data on the server side.

2. What Data We Don't Collect

Weather AI is committed to protecting your privacy. We do not:

  • Collect personal information (name, email, phone number) unless you choose to share it
  • Use cookies to track you or store information
  • Log or transmit IP addresses or browser information to third parties
  • Require registration to use weather services

3. Use of localStorage

Weather AI uses localStorage to store:

  • Your dark/light mode preference
  • Your list of favorite cities
  • Your recent search queries

All this data is stored in your browser only, not on our servers. You can delete this data at any time by clearing your browser's localStorage.

4. Third-Party Services

4.1 Open-Meteo and WeatherAPI.com

Weather AI uses external weather services to fetch data. When accessing these services, your IP address and API requests may be logged by the service providers. Please review their privacy policies.

4.2 Vercel Analytics

Weather AI uses Vercel Analytics to understand how users interact with the site. Vercel Analytics does not collect personally identifiable information. Data is anonymous and can be disabled in your browser preferences (Do Not Track).

5. Data Retention

Weather AI does not collect server-side user data (extended IP addresses, search history, etc.). All your known data is stored in your browser only. To delete all your privacy data, simply clear your browser data.

6. User Rights (GDPR and Israeli Law)

Under GDPR and Israeli data protection laws, you have rights:

  • Right of access: Request how your personal data is processed
  • Right to be forgotten: Request deletion of your personal data
  • Right to rectification: Request correction of inaccurate personal data
